Free Video to Android Converter can convert pretty much any video file into MPEG-4 files, which are supported by most Android phones and other devices. The application is completely free of charge, but during installation it tries to sneak in a toolbar in your system. Thankfully, if you act fast, you can uncheck a few boxes and save you the trouble of having to uninstall it.
Free Video to Android Converter has five different conversion profiles. Each one of those was designed with specific conversion settings so that files are optimized for playback on specific devices. For example, the first profile will create files for the HTC Desire, Google Nexus One, Acer Stream and Altek Leo. There is even a profile for the Aspire One. All of the profiles use the AAC codec for audio and MPEG-4 for video. The only real difference is the resolution at which files are converted, 240x320 being the smallest and 1024x600 the biggest.
The application works extremely well and there is a preset editor to customize the conversion profiles. The user interface is very simple but incredibly intuitive and efficient.
